The Engel rod cost $14 including reel when we bought the fridge - maximum 3 kg line so it's good for herring and whiting and as it turns out - big salmon. I had to do a kind of a weird salmon soccer thing in sync with the surf to get it up the beach out of the shallows without breaking the line. Ironically it was too big for the Engel fridge so we let it go. Herring tastes better even if it takes less impressive photographs.
